...Anticipate New Chanel Spring 2013 Colors.

Chanel Spring 2013 collection.

Oh yes! It's almost that time for a new release of nail polish colors from Chanel Spring 2013 Collection. The colors will be Fracas: a pink with golden shimmer, Emprise: beige with a hint of shimmer, and Accessoire: a pretty red.

I am anticipating on Fracas and Emprise. Knowing me, I will ending up purchasing all 3 just because I need to complete the set!

...Paint Your Nails.

Yes, it is indeed Fall, but whoever play by the rules anyways?

I like to wear whatever I am in the mood for that day - whether going light for the Winter or darker for the Summer - I wear what makes me happy.

Dior Merveille and Chanel Mimosa
The yellow is Chanel Mimosa. The formula was very hard to work with and streaky, but opaque. It took me two coats, but I had to wait 10 minutes to apply the next coat to avoid the streakiness. The shimmer is very pretty but once the top coat is added, the shimmer disappear instantly.

The red is Dior Merveille and its one of my absolute favorite! The formula is the best and it took only one coat. The shimmer was very noticeable -- you cannot go wrong with this nail polish.

...Practice Ombre.

O.M.Goodness! Has it been over a month since I last posted? My apologies to you all (and hey!) look at my visitor count. It went from 40 views to 108...in one month LOL. It's pathetic, but I am happy nonetheless.

I've been MIA due to two broken nails along with gyming 7 days a week for 2-3 hours each day. Whenever there's an opportunity I take it upon myself to beautiful my nails and Lord knows the gym physical training has left my nails dull!

If anyone know me knows that I love practicing ombre nails. However, when there's good there's also bad. I have a lot of reason why I hate doing ombre one being that it completely takes an entire bottle to do just 10 nails in ONE sitting. Okay...I'm being dramatic, but it takes a lot of nail polish to do ombre, at least 15-20% of the bottle for a decent ombre finish.

Usually I do ombre on cheap nail polish but lately I wanted to try on my Chanels. I used two different collection -- Les Jeans de Chanel using Coco Blue and Blue boy and Spring 2012 Collection using April, May, and June.

Les Jeans: Coco Blue and Blue Boy. I painted my 2 coat Nutranail Thickener with Green Tea as my base. After drying I painted 1 coat of China Glaze White Out. After it dries, I used a make up sponge for dabbing the nail polish on. I apply 2 different color on the sponge -- top is a stripe of China Glaze White Out and bottom stripe is the blended colors or Chanel Coco Blue and Blue Boy. Keep in mind that I blend the two colors prior to dabbing. Continue to dab until you find a perfect gradient/ ombre effect. The more you dab the brighter the color. Wait until it dries completely then apply a top coat. I usually use Seche Vite. It literally dry within 2 minutes and leaves my nails shiny for days on end.

Spring 2012 Collection: April, May, June. With this ombre I did not blend any colors prior together. I use the same method to dab on the 3 colors as I did for ALL of my ombre using a sponge. After nail prep, I pick the lightest color as my base -- I ALWAYS pick the lightest color to apply on my entire nail. Repeat the method of applying the polish on to the sponge and keeps dabbing until you get the perfect gradient/ ombre effect.

I promise on the next post I will show you a tutorial. It's a lot easier to do it through and not having to stop in between steps to take pictures. It was such a hassle, but it turned out great so I'm not complaining. :D

Until next post my fellow readers (again, or lack thereof), keep painting those nails.

...Introduce Yourself.

Hello again fellow readers (or lack thereof). :) I haven't properly introduce myself therefore I will take this opportunity to formally introduce myself.

I remember when I was in school and the teachers/ professors would ask the students to introduce themselves. I could handle any workload that was assigned throughout the semester, but what I couldn't handle was having to stand up (even if it's only for 2 minutes) to briefly introduce myself.

My introduction would be as simple and brief as possible with minimal eye contact. I even at times mumble and avoid asking my fellow classmates if they had any questions. Of course, it's not the classmates that you have to worry about, it's the teachers/ professors! I was horrified...can you just give me the syllabus so we can learn, already?

Anyways...I grew up in Texas. Yes, the heat is insane here during the summer and traffic is always stuffy, but I'm not complaining because it means people are working and that's a great thing in today's economy. I was born in September which makes me a Virgo. My birthday is quickly approaching and I cannot wait to celebrate it with my family and friends. It will be my last year in my twenties! Oh, the horror. No worries because if you didn't know...30's are the new 20's. People don't grow older; they grow fabulous-er? LOL

I graduated from the University of Houston (Main Campus) with a BS in Dietetics and Nutrition. I am not pursuing that field; instead I am working in the legal field. What a swap, but I love it. I have a 9 year old son and let it be known he's the love of my life; he's my heartbeat, my everything, the reason why life is great even when it's rocky.

My "BBD" and I have been together for 10 years! Wow a decade! He was hospitalized in April 2012 (the same week that my former boss passed away) and I stayed with BBD day and night at the hospital by his bedside. Yes, I love him that much. While bored out of my mind, I find things that could occupied my time. I came across some nails polish swatches and frankly, at the time I was really tired of my acrylic nails. I had it done every 2-3 weeks and they were very damaging to my nails. My nails were ready for a change.

I started to read blogs and search for swatches and purchased and still purchasing any colors I can lay my hands on. My very first nail polish fascination was Chanel. Within a month, I accumulated over 40 bottles...all brand new including discontinued colors that I paid several limbs for. I wish I loved nail polish sooner, like 10 years sooner so I could have all of Chanel most sought after colors.

Chanel releases new colors several times a year therefore I stay on top of the releases and make sure I grab a bottle or two as soon as it hits the Chanel website, Chanel boutique, or the Chanel counters at major department stores. My latest acquisition is Sky Line that's on it's way to me. It was released yesterday and I jumped on it as fast as I could. Then later in the day, the colors for Fashion Night Out 2012 became available for pre-order and guess what I did? I pre-ordered it! :D It'll be release in September...my birthday month! *Woot.

My Chanel NP collection
Missing a few bottles (not photographed)

I hope you're enjoying the Chanel Nail Polish eye-candy. I will be back soon to update with more later but first I am off to my mom's house for salmon and steak night. I'm so hungry I can eat a cow (no pun intended).

xoxo

...Do Ombre Nails.

I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and create a blog. I am not sure exactly what I will be blogging about or how often I blog but I know for sure I will blog about what I love and I will blog as often as possible.

For my very first blog, I've decided to talk about ombre nail polish. It's the simplest thing next to painting your nails. If the color combination doesn't mesh well together, the ombre effect will not be pretty. So you have to learn how to dab the colors on without pressing it down too hard.

These ombres are my latest color combination. You're probably overwhelmed with all the pinks in the collage, but I love pink and I wear pink often.

I will post a tutorial soon. Stay tune.
